Single Vineyard, Limited Production
The High Eden sub-region of Eden Valley is a unique region characterised by its high altitude, schist soils, vast sunlight exposure and hillside aspect. Cool nights promote more delicate flavours and preserve natural acidity; making High Eden the ideal terroir for growing Riesling of exceptional quality and complexity.
Tasting Notes:
A precise and expressive Riesling displaying lifted aromatics of citrus zest, white nectarine, and ripe guava, underscored by delicate floral notes of white blossom and lavender. The palate is medium-bodied and finely structured, driven by a glassy, mineral-accented acidity that provides focus and length. Subtle phenolic texture lends a gentle rindy grip, adding dimension and savoury balance to the bright fruit core. The finish is long, dry, and persistent, with lingering notes of lime pith and crushed stone. Crafted to showcase purity of fruit and regional definition, this wine captures the high-altitude tension and natural elegance of Eden Valley Riesling.
Reflective of its cool climate origins, this wine expresses the minerality of the vineyards terroir. An austere, yet elegant Riesling from an exceptional vintage. Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Winemaking:
2.4t of Riesling is machine harvested, crushed & destemmed, with only the finest free run juice collected (up to 500 litres / tonne). The juice was naturally cold settled before racking, with only the clearest portion retained for fermentation. After an extended cool fermentation in stainless steel tank, the wine rested on its yeast lees for two months, building subtle palate texture and contributing to its overall balance then filtered and bottled in June 2025. Our winemaking approach is designed to capture the flavour of our Single Vineyard site with minimal winemaking influence, aiming for the purest expression of Eden Valley Riesling.
The High Eden Estate Single Vineyard Riesling presents the pinnacle of Eden Valley Riesling, showing concentration, sense of place and purity. Contains minimal sulphites.
